6:45PM - This time a year ago today I was sitting in a room designated to us in the hospital. It was our holding cell while we waited for our newly born daughter to be brought in to us "when she warms up". Little did we know that within hours she would be whisked off to a children's hospital that could offer more clarity on our situation. This began our year of becoming well known in Dr.'s Offices, Cardiologist Office's, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the PICU (Pediatric).
Fabienne was born with Trisomy 21, known also as Down Syndrome. What began as a rocky start has turned to be out to be the biggest blessing of my life! She's my little pal and is a total gift from God. Today, she's 1 and I celebrate her. Happy Birthday Love.

Oh Briana (& Pat)! After 2 attempts at pulling off an engagement shoot due to business and work schedules, it finally came down to saying..."Want to try a sunrise shoot?" Of course, I didn't think about what I was saying and that I would actually have to wake at this ridiculous time. After agreeing, they met at my house at 5:15AM. AM if you didn't catch that. 5:15. I'm tired thinking about it. It took only minutes before Briana & Pat, and were climbing hills, trudging through ditches, and turning their outfits into a Hot Mess! Great sunrise and Great couple! You guys were a blast and I can't wait for your Big Day!

LIFE ~ MARLA

Every now and again, I find myself saying..."Oh Life". Sometimes it hits me how interesting, crazy, ridiculous, and amazing life can be. There are so many scenarios it offers. I find it interesting that I can get so wrapped up in what I think it should be and forget about those the blessings and growth that come with the unforeseen. When Fabienne came along we began one of those growth spurts. From birth to feeding tubes to Trisomy 21 to heart surgery, Marla has proved to be more of an incredible woman than I'd ever imagined. She's just the most beautiful person I know. An incredible life mate, who just happens to be gorgeous and always game for anything. It's always a treat to be able to see her through the eyes of the camera and freeze life for a moment. Marla, you inspire me to be a better person and I'm truly thankful to be doing life with you.
